VOCAL TUITION

Contact

Welcome to the VOCAL TUITION page.

I will begin teaching again from my private home recording studio in 2011. I have a very distinct tuition style and I'm results orientated.   That means I create a program, specifically designed to address your particular skill level, in both musicianship & vocal ability, your desired outcomes and preferred learning environment.( You may know more than you think you do!)  With 20 years experience of teaching both groups & individuals, I have observed that everyone learns differently. Each person is a unique , well defined creation. Finding the key, and unlocking the potential within that person, is what I do, in my area of expertise, which is vocal expression & musicianship.

Here are some things folks had to say about learning to sing with me and teaching along side me in tertiary arts college . . .

Jaynie Seal :- Channel Nine Weather Presenter & TV Personality

"I met Debra in 2006 through a very good friend of mine, I needed some voice lessons as I was performing in an ABBA special and was told she was the best person for it. Debra has an amazing way of building your confidence, believing in yourself and getting straight to the point. Her generosity and talent is outstanding and I would highly recommend her as a singing coach to anyone. I play her CD's everyday, my 2 year old son loves hearing them too and we have lots of sing a longs in the car! Debra has so many special gifts, an incredible teacher, extraordinary singer, doting mother and beautiful person to name a few, anyone who has the opportunity to work with her will no doubt agree. I wish she was still in Sydney as I would be having lessons every week!"

Nicole O'Sullivan :- Independent PR Executive

I found Debra Dicembre when I was looking to challenge myself and explore my vocal and performance ability. Over and above her technical brilliance as a jazz, pop and gospel singer, Debra is an incredibly insightful and passionate teacher. She is a 100% committed to elicit the best from her students. Debra combines her standards of excellence with a teaching style that made me feel safe and comfortable to break through my own barriers and lack of confidence as a singer. My experience with Deb stays with me every day. I apply so much of what I learned about how to sing to other areas of my life. It's more than a singing lesson! I highly recommend Debra to anyone who wants to learn from a professional singer, talented performer and gifted artist.

Anna Conn-Barbaris :- Owner of Elvis 4 Chloe

When I walked into my first lesson, I felt that I had a 'voice' within me to explore but was completely embarrassed, shy and initmidated by meeting with a professional.
Debra immediately made me feel comfortable about myself and this delicate path to vocal discovery. Not only did I have fun opening myself up, but I actually felt confident singing and genuinely musical for the first time.

Hugh Wilson :- Vocal Lecturer at the School Of Creative Arts Sydney & Singapore

“Debra is an amazing and inspiring vocalist/musician and wonderful teacher. We have worked together in numerous and various capacities since 1995: as performers onstage, in the recording studio, and lecturing/tutoring in arts colleges in both Australia and Singapore. In fact, Debra's artistic expression and conversation actually helped substantially and beneficially change the direction of my life. Deb is an astute, honest and direct communicator; sagacious, analytical and observant; with a great sense of humor and energetic nature, that makes working with her in a team environment enjoyable and effective. I have personally observed vast improvement in her students and have also enjoyed improvement in my own teaching and communication skills simply by working alongside Deb. I have also found Deb to possess enormous integrity, loyalty and honesty. I have no hesitation in recommending her for any work which involves creativity, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, impartation, pubic performance, or any of her other abundant gifts.” June 18, 2009

Joycet Mymien - Student from Singapore SCA

'Deb is a fantastic teacher who brings her lessons to life with lots of fun and laughter. She brings with her loads of experience and practical advice on the proper techniques of singing, which has benefited me to a great extent as a singer. It was through her I had my first encounter with Jazz music, and I loved her lessons so much, I've never stopped listening to and singing Jazz ever since!'
