2006 UPDATE

Manhattan Love Bistro CD available online SOON

Recently returned from New York City, multi award winning jazz singer/songwriter Debra Dicembre, is back in Australia. Debra’s latest project, ‘Manahattan Love Bistro’, sees her performing and recording the music she was raised on – a mixture of Jazz, Gospel, Blues and Soul. In the band, the best of Australia’s Jazz Talent, Dale Barlow, Jonathon Zwartz, Sean Wayland, Tim Rollinson and Gordon Rytmeister.

A deep love and respect...always.

My father was a jazz musician, (in fact he might be a little hurt by that) I should say, is a jazz musician. He raised me on Louis Armstrong and taught me to comp on the piano, so he could solo on the trumpet. Even tho' I sing in many styles, I never get quite the reaction, that I do, when I sing a jazz tune.

I have to say, it's my first love.  Something certainly clicks into gear and locks in deep.

I could never exhaust the possibilities or the challenge, jazz presents me with. I like that.

You are listening to 'You Go To My Head' rec 7 July 2003 in my home, Kevin Hunt on piano
